The AFF Suzuki Cup is a biennial football competition organised by the ASEAN Football Federation, accredited by FIFA and contested by the national teams of Southeast Asia. It is formerly known as the Tiger Cup and Asean Football Championship, has become a symbol of football prowess in South East Asia since its first staging in 1996.
Indonesia and Thailand have been chosen as co-hosts for the group stage of the 2008 AFF Cup. Both are no strangers when it comes to hosting this event. Indonesia hosted the tournament in 2002 while Thailand were hosts in 2000 and co-hosts in the last edition.
Right now Singapore is in the run for the final. They have already book a place in the semi-final. It will be played on a home and away format. For topping the table of Group A, Singapore will be playing away first. Their opponent is either Malaysia or Vietnam depending on the result of the last fixture of Group B. Most importantly is Singapore won't get to face Thailand till the final if they manage to cruise pass the semi-final.
